No. The first one didn't do well. This one is not a real sequel to it(different characters & story).

 

The Lion King was the highest-grossing animation in China until Kong Fu Panda in 2008.

oh i know that he is guessing, but it seems weird to me to change even if it is just a guess, so quickly when there is no data at this moment,

 

yeah i remember he said 300 for dp in china, lol people really overestimated that movie everywhere, 1 billion bc is the biggest franchise, yeah how it turned out

The Eight Hundred is based on true historical event ... so yeah movie is capable of box office records in home land China ...

The funniest thing is the prediction that Pika will make at least $1B worldwide had been widely accepted as realistic and reasonable by many before the movie opened.

There was the running joke that it would be the highest grossing movie of 2019, beating Endgame, TLK blah blah, surpassing 2B, OW of 1B WW etc. (But a few seemed to be true believers then).
