Quigley
So $100m is still in play? It made $2.4M over the weekend so earning another $5M in the next 6 days is unlikely. Combined Monday and Tueusday grosses amounted to about $0.5M I think. If it doesn't lose many screens this weekend, $98-99M may still be possible, but as druv10 said, $96-97M is most likely to be its final tally.

Quigley
For 2014, the top 10 benchmark is already at $113m (Apes 2). It was $78m in 2013. On this chart, the 10th film is at $94.9M (Guardians of the Galaxy). http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/china/yearly/ Is this not accurate? If not, do you have a more accurate chart? Olive
Looks like GOTG will also beat TASM2 in yuan(591M). A real surprise!

juni78ukr
http://58921.com/alltime/2014 More accurate numbers. Is there any proof? I mean entgroup has obviously bigger staff and more resources. And all western sources use their weekly numbers. Don't get me wrong. I just want to be absolutely sure. And if entgroup numbers in yuan are off the same will be with USD numbers. Olive
Nobody uses Entgroup's numbers in China, they are always off by several millions.

Archerdude
Looks like GOTG will also beat TASM2 in yuan(591M). A real surprise! What went wrong? One year ago if you ask any China observers, no one would put TASM2 behind Cap, X and certainly not Guardians.

IIRC, bad release date. It was released the day the holidays ended.
Olive
GOTG release date was worse than TASM2, gotg FIRST Saturday was a work day, if not been this, it would have passed 100M USD with ease.
Ay72998
http://58921.com/alltime/2014 More accurate numbers. The numbers from that website don't seem to be that different than Entgroup's http://www.cbooo.cn/. Of course, I do see that the Entgroup's box office numbers always seems to be a bit on the lower side. However, I do have to mention the looks and presentation of http://www.cbooo.cn/is fantastic. The website looks very slick with all the pie charts and graphs. Also, what is this http://58921.com/website? Who publishes them? Are they a well-known website on Chinese box office?
