A Marvel Fanboy
maybe it is just because the hollywood movies recently released are not that appealing to the audience.
A Marvel Fanboy
The biggest foreign movie of the year should be one of im3/ts2/ff6. But all of them likely to miss $100m at this point.
POLYLOVE
Hobbit's Monday and Tuesday gross are almost same with Skyfall's second weekdays gross.

iceroll
by 2.25, overall 2013 box office has reached about 3.8b yuan, increasing close to 30% from same period of 2012.Local films accounts for more than 80% market share, with gross jumping more than 90% from same period of 2012. While Hollywood/foreign movies tanked, down 60%+ from last year.So maybe dead is the right word for Hollywood movies this year.Keep in mind, the bigger local movies have yet to come.Overall box office for locals movies will pass 10b yuan for the first time in history this year, maybe even will reach 12b.While overall gross for Hollywood movies will decline for the first time since 2002. Well the stupid government gets what they wanted now. Giving Hollywood shitty release dates months after they've been released everywhere else in the world with pirated copies floating around, presumably doing light/restricted promotional advertising and only keeping them in theaters for 2 weeks. I hope they're happy, China had huge potential and if things don't go back to the way they were then the future is grim.
A Marvel Fanboy
Early Thursday estimates:Jttw 15mHobbit 11mLes miserables 6.3m ODAll numbers in RMB of courseThat's an ugly drop for hobbit and a bad opening for LM. $20m for LM is dead if it won't jump big on Friday and Saturday.(like 50%+). See if $15m is reachable or not .....

Joe Lee
that's bomb range ...... Not really, they have highest attendance yesterday, but screenings are a lot lower than JTTW and hobbits(less than half),so it's expected numbers(at least according to Chinese forums) Oh also rating is pretty good,8.6 in mtime.com Edited March 1, 2013 by N2O1899
