MU has solid chance to breakout for a Pixar movie. firedeep and Olive think 20M+ is possible, which would be great for Pixar in China. :D

20m in China is lame.

China is great for PR, but it's disappointing for Pixar productions. Let's call a spade a spade.

Yep, extraordinary performance. :excited:  :excited: It's been holding great so 100M by Sunday is locked and another 10M by end is doable.  :shades:

If it can do $100M by SUnday, why only another $10M?

Can this actually do IM3 number...? To become Hollywood

top release in China for the year??

Quote from Rocket Olive

"I don't think PR will get an extended run because Gatsby is opening on 30th.

And JP3D and MU opening next week will take many 3D screens.

Anyway it may end up around 110M or at least 650M yuan."

I still don't get, why movies in China can't have a normal run in theaters. Where's the logic, to cut releases completely, when you've got 20 screen multiplexes and still demand?

Tiny Times on 14 screens or how does that work?

Germanys biggest multiplex currently play 37 different movies this week and a movie is being cut, when the seats are empty. That's how cinemas should work.

That's why China has been exploding. The market is still far from satisfying the fast-increasing demand and more than often they literrally HAVE to cut one film to make room for another.

There are 1.3billion people in china.

How many of those can afford to go to the movies?

300million?

Sorry, I don't believe that demand is the only reason. You know, there was a time, not long ago, when there were no multiplexes at all, movies were sold out every day, weeks over weeks and there was no need to ban them from theaters.

You asked "How many of those(chinese) can afford to go to the movies?"

Well, China have 1.3 billion people and 150 million middle class at the moment.

But don't forget China still is a developing country.  China is on its way switching from production to domestic consumption.

By 2020, China will have 600 million middle class.

What a monster run in China when compared to US...its funny how easily it have done more in china than domestic

Warner should stop writing Chinese villains into their movies (TDK & HANGOVER movies)
