A Marvel Fanboy
The only thing that can stop WW2 from making 6B and more is a suddenly running out of demand in its fourth week.
A Marvel Fanboy
Among all records WW2 has taken and will take, I would say the 2nd weekend gross of $160m is the hardest one to break for future releases. It's harder than its 6B total and 11-plus consecutive days over 200m. It probably will take a few years for those records to fall.

I agree thats very possible like a tsunami that eventually runs out of water. 150m+ ticket is a large percentage of the movie going population. Unless there is a lot repeat viewings that keep it going like SW7 and Titanic had in domestic.
POTUS 2020
http://deadline.com/2017/08/wolf-warriors-2-chinese-box-office-records-400-million-1202143212/ It has overtaken the No. 2 Chinese movie ever, Monster Hunt, which grossed about $382M in 2015 (albeit under somewhat dubious circumstances). Whether it can score another $125M to supplantThe Mermaid as the No. 1 movie ever in China remains to be seen, although it has a fair bit of runway ahead. "Beating mermaid remains to be seen" Great analysis. How about by tuesday. 1

Unless there is a lot repeat viewings that keep it going like SW7 and Titanic had in domestic. It appears the three openers are 'locking' a lot of showtimes i.e. fans and maybe even the distributor themself book a ton of tickets in advance so that their movie takes as much screening capacity as possible, no matter how low the attendance is, just like what fans of OUAT have been doing. A fangirl of OUAT's Li Yifeng bought one ticket for each of the 26 showtims at a theater. There are thousands of such fangirls. This is beyond absurd. https://www.zhihu.com/question/63464212#answer-68138900 On one hand, people cannot get a ticket for WW2 as enormous shows are being soldout; on the other, OUAT fangirls are locking shows, making a hell of unproductive shows with only one or two seats sold. Theaters are enraged. As a beat back, some theaters are deciding to cancell all shows of OUTA starting on Monday. Talking about a war between retarded fangirls and theater operators at the height.
Olive
I thought Mermaid's record would hold for at least 3-5 year, never imagined a movie has some potential to double it only one year later.

Quote Action star Wu Jing's military action film "Wolf Warrior 2" has ignited huge enthusiasm among Chinese patriots and hard-core military fans -just as he did in 2015 with the first installment grossing 540 million yuan using a 10 million yuan budget at the box office.
