@POTUS 2020 Tangential question: If Avatar 2 is about 160 minutes long and given the rate of screen growth in China/4 quadrant nature of Avatar, about how many showings can we expect for opening day?

Isn't a little bit early to talk about Avatar and its potential? We have so many movies until then.

21.5 12:00

1h~3 ->10h~30??

Is the rate faster in the evening on a working day?

Didn't @Olive say Maoyan does not have data form real BO. So its extrapolating from some presales on its platform? That could be why it dies in the evening as presales should stop by that time. For all you know some of the BO reported by Maoyan could be for shows in the evening.

Let us wait for Olive to provide the update. But you have to wait until 10PM China time.

So what is the often gap between report of maoyan and the real BO? can we expect ~$8M (~53) today ?

Normally it was close. Something has changed. Not running smooth and predictable as it was.

I am afraid I am no expert. @Olive is the best bet. @POTUS 2020 (Grrrr his user name) is amazing with extrapolating data.

Low unemployment. Stocks at all time highs. Wages increased.

You know you love Trump.

They should slow down building theaters soon. Revenue per screen is at a 10 year low. But they never learn, build build build until its over saturated. Happens all the time. They mite be able to squeeze in one more show per day and increase screens by 20% by then. 280k shows is my guess. PTA will be higher in 3rd and 4th tier. $350m 3 day. $500m if its a 5 day.

You've talked about it for way too long. Marvel has done $20b in BO since Avatar came out.  You can wait until PS start
