I see some of the films that have good potential to be solid films and do well; and some to be flops (eg: Dynasty Warriors).

charlie Jatinder
Godzilla vs Kong run is essentially over. Grossed ¥1208M or $184.75M, could have been better but trending was helped by low/no competition so somewhat respectable total. The gross is more than Kong: Skull Island due to longer run and more importantly more online bookings. The actual gross and admits are less than K:SI. Kong: Skull Island Admits - 33.009M Gross - ¥1,096,258,800 Gross (with ticket booking charges) - ¥1,160,503,600 Godzilla vs Kong Admits - 32.2M Gross - ¥1,073,000,000 Gross (with ticket booking charges) - ¥1,208,100,000 <iframe width="628" height="408" seamless frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSIwb5hOcFnrNmA5oE7zJvcTVJH0WI2aprmz75eFafvMVlvP_WWsUosO_V6Awzkooc1vi6eoAHnRdAr/pubchart?oid=1521629709&format=interactive"></iframe> <iframe width="628" height="408" seamless frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSIwb5hOcFnrNmA5oE7zJvcTVJH0WI2aprmz75eFafvMVlvP_WWsUosO_V6Awzkooc1vi6eoAHnRdAr/pubchart?oid=513402737&format=interactive"></iframe> Edited April 30, 2021 by charlie Jatinder 1
charlie Jatinder
Godzilla Vs Kong managed to continue the run in China despite plethora of new releases. Grossed ¥0.9M on SAT and ¥3.1M on SUN, and today with shows increased will be looking at ¥5M plus. The total will reach ¥1218M today, probably at ¥1227M at end of Holiday period on WED. Can add may be another ¥20M after that to ¥1245M Approx ($190.5M).

Gavin Feng
early reactions on maoyan and taopiao look average even awful. Saying too many talks and lines, too many boring dramas. H&S has 8.5/10 Maoyan score. This might not be far away. Edited May 20, 2021 by Gavin Feng 1 1

Cooper Legion
Maybe 850 still possible after all 👀 850*1.6 for 1530/$240ish probably the worst case.
Gavin Feng
On Douban, it’s 5.8/10 rated by recent 100 users. Worst of the franchise. H&S got 6.3/10. On Maoyan, positive:negative reactions is about 5:1. Usually, it means the audience score might be under 8.4/10(B+) Edited May 21, 2021 by Gavin Feng 2 1

I don't think reviews matter for these type of films unless they are incredibly toxic. Hobbs and Shaw managed 2x legs IIRC with mid 8 scores. I think lack of competition will help this as well like GvK.

H&S had summer+low competition+lower opening to try to leg from. Wasn’t sure what competition looked like for F9 — I figure probably weak, but since I was describing floor didn’t bother to check 😛
Gavin Feng
5.5/10 by most recent 100 users on Douban. Maoyan positive:negative is now close to 4.5:1.
charlie Jatinder
At 10AM, 130.4M. Last 37 mins pacing at 8-8.25M. That's around 15% better than FFH pace. If that continues, probably 300-305M Friday. Though can see pace fall as FFH had lower pre-sales, but since I am bit biased against FF franchise, I will take the optimistic number of 300-310M for now.
