Without a second of pre-sales, I don't see a reason that it can't match whatever it does in the US on Opening Weekend right now. Detective Chinatown 3 still managed a $150m+ opening day, though I don't know exactly what the covid restrictions were back then.

So are theaters reopening now? Seems like China's still in a pretty bad COVID surge but I dunno how much they've relented based on those protests

Yea I don’t think even half the people who would have watched A2 in December 2019 will watch it today. The hype is still mostly there but the obstacles are going to prove too great for a lot of people to overcome.
