A Marvel Fanboy
Holiday Box Office Report Thursday, being the first of this year's three-days Qing Ming holiday, saw nearly 100M yuan at the overal box office national wide, which means the total gross definitely will go beyond 300M yuan through the whole holiday, comfortably doubling that of 2012 (146M). Adding another 140M through Mon-Wed and projected 60M Sunday, this is a 500M $80M week, the fourth biggest one so far among all the 13 weeks of 2013. The two biggest weeks (also biggest in history, 850M and 650M) belong to the Chinese New Year holiday and the third one is the new year holiday. And I am assuming that from now on, any future weeks that have holiday boosts will follow the trend —— seeing 500M weekly gross or more. The actual Thursday daily box office for individual movies as below: #1. FMR 29M #2. CAS 22.5M #3. Drug War 17M #4. Oz 16.5M #5. Saving General Yang 10M Staggering for FMR, the single day gross adds nothing but the certainity that it will do 500M-plus $80M+ when all is said and done. It is performing exactly as I projected last Saturday. And I am proud to be the first one of the whole Chinese film market community calling it has a shot at 500M. That was on March 28th, one week after its release when it was still enjoying a relatively slow start. that said, it should be around 400M $64M or more by this Sunday, depending on if holiday-Saturday-working-Sunday stronger than normal Sat-Sun or not. Still belive its final gross will stand at 520M+. CAS continue its pretty healthy legs, heading to the $45M range. DW doing solid business as well, being by far the biggest hit in Mainland for director Johnnie To. As for Oz, poorer than average legs are carrying it to $25M or so. Weak start for SGY, another underperformer from a Chinese costumed epic film. This genre has long been proved just dead, simply. Not clear for the producers behind to greenlight this project from the beginning. Cumes as of Thursday (April 4th): FMR 324M CAS 142M Drug War 41M Oz 96M Saving General Yang 10M JTGS 47.5M DH5 198M (run almost ended) RE5 109M (run almost ended)

POLYLOVE
It's live on Shandong TV tonight. So sad it's not on the state-run CCTV6. CCTV6 is more powerful.

A Marvel Fanboy
When is JP 3D releasing? Could follow Titanic 3D... doubt JP3D can actually get a release here. Even if it does, that would be a waste of quota. It will flop here. Not every 3D rerelease can pull a T3D, not even close. Titanic is Titanic. A Marvel Fanboy
Universal should work on their full power to asure the proper releases of Oblivion and FF6 and DM2, not wasting a precious quota on JP3D.
Olive
I've heard that Universal is trying to release JP3D here. Edited April 7, 2013 by Iron Olive

A Marvel Fanboy
Why would it flop? Jurassic Park is Jurassic Park. $900M+ WW in 1993! Because it is not that popular here. If released, it would make significant less than the average of foreign quota movies, thus it would be a flop here.
