Robert Cain
TF4 will be massive in China? 200+? At least $200 million, maybe more than $300 million. But only if they don't kill Michael Bay with an air conditioner first.

A Marvel Fanboy
It looks like great WOM of NML just couldnt spread to many general audience. Saturday will be critical. The film was shot in 2009 and got stored for four years because of censor issues. Producers include CFC, DMG, Huayi, Goldern Harvest, Gallop Horse and Emperor Entertainment. CFC is the distributor. Friday looks to be a close run between NML and The Four 2. The latter maybe wins. The Four 2 is a sequel to 2012's hit Martial arts flick The Four (nearly 200m), which is based on martial arts classic novels. Enlight Pic is the solo producer and distributor. Four 3 was already shot, planning a May 2015 release .... despite Four 2 probably wont match the success of The Four.
A Marvel Fanboy
FIRESTORM would steamroll past $50M It is very likely. Because of 3D and Andy Lau. And the distributor EDKO at the moment is more powerful at the business than Bona (The White Storm). TWS probably will finish with 250m. Not sure if it will be profitable to Bona, maybe barely. I have just heard that Fast and Furious 7 is now a US-China co-production between Universal and EDKO. The news is not public yet. Not sure if the tragedy of Paul Walker will affect the status. Many future Universal blockbuster franchise, Fast Furious, The Mummy, Jurassic Park, World of Warcraft, etc, will probably all be US-China co-productions, due to the Universal-Legendary-CFC-EDKO connection curcle. Those movies happen to be the type that Chinese audience dig. Bright future for them. Edited December 6, 2013 by firedeep
franko
Hi, I'm new on forum. So, there is a little hope that "Frozen" will come in Mainland China? Tangled also had no screenings in China. Why the most successful Disney animated films are not shown in China? There are some reasons? Not sure if the tragedy of Paul Walker will affect the status. Firedeep, did you hear this from a credible source? It sounds like it's probably a rumor that's untrue. I just spoke with a senior Universal executive yesterday who told me that the company is still in shock over Paul Walker's passing--many people in Hollywood are--and they're trying to be extremely sensitive about how they handle things with FF. It's certainly possible that they could team up with Bill Kong and EDKO on the franchise, but it seems too early for them to make such a decision given that Walker passed away less than a week ago.
