Iron Man remains the rockstar of the Avengers team. The only one I can see someday challenging for Downey's Tony Stark is maybe Chris Pratt's take on Peter Quill, highly depending if GotG breaks out.  But that's a different film, different team.

I did notice Pratt is doing some of that off-the-cuff rogue charmer routine that Harrison Ford created in the Star Wars movies and RDJ perfected in the Iron Man movies, albeit with a little bit of that slacker sensitivity. Disney/Marvel also realized by now that RDJ cannot be carrying the Marvel torch forever. Smart move but well executed? Don't know, can't wait for August to come.

Yep.

Sunday

DOFP 67.1M  514M

OH3 44.2M  148.5M

Grr. It went down as you said. Still awesome. Should be around 560M after today. Should hopefully go into coming weekend > 600M and should have a good hold even with EOT opening. I dont see how it misses 700M even with competition ahead.

I think weekdays this week could be something like 40-20-17-16-14-25-20. That would mean 150m+ 3rd week and 665m cume. Mon-Thurs should then add another 35m. So it will be close to 700m by the time Godzilla opens. I could see DOFP do another 50m easily by the end of its run.So a 750m ($120m) finish!

Sunday China $10.82m (67.1m yuan) > North America $9.4m (EST) .... It grossed more in China than in NA on its 10th day. China cheated as Sunday being a holiday, but still .... bigger is bigger.

Monday China will also easily bigger than DOM, likely $7.2m (45m yuan) VS $2.8m ... but after that ... DOM will win.

Monday looks it could hit 45m ... but I am not confident for a 20m Tuesday.  Thinking 60% holiday-weekday drop for 18m. So I would say a 142m (45+18+15+12+12+22+18) week for 656m total after three, to be conservative. It is possible that it wouldnt increase on Friday with EoT opening.

Anyway I think passing CA2 720M is virtually a lock now, even considering CA2 had about 30m of May holiday bump in its last few days.

After 11 days: CA2 516M VS X-DOFP 560M
