DOFP is going to hit $100M soon. You are saying that the Chinese government will collect $75M out of that gross revenue? Can rely on China for exposure & bankability factor but studios need to rely on domestic & European market for better margin. About right?

DOFP has already hit 100m as of yesterday. As far as I know, the studio gets 25%. Theaters must be getting a chunk of the remaining 75%.

The studio gets 25%, exhibitors supposedly get about 45. Of course skimming by theaters is a longstanding phenomenon and I'm sure it still goes on, despite aggressive efforts to clamp down.

The 25% Hollywood studios get from China is about the same as what they get from most Europe countries after taxes.

 

It is just that China has little post-theater revenues of films.

So around $23.8m OW for EoT. Hopefully Godzilla and Maleficent won't completely kill its legs. WB is lazy lol. At the end of the day, Godzilla, which is bound to have ugly legs, wont gross much higher than EoT.
