Ay72998
So "Fleet of Time", a Chinese teen drama based on a best selling novel and directed by Zhang Yibai, is going to have a opening day of estimated 55 million yuan , and that is not including the 20 million+ yuan it got during last Saturday's preview. Pretty stunning box office! It just goes to show that Chinese audiences love nostalgic films about the high school/college years and loss of innocence (see So Young, My Old Classmate). Even John Woo is no match! And John Woo and his screenwriter Wang Hui-ling probably should have figured out that a war film (The Crossing) about the Kuomingtang's defeat and Taiwan isn't going to interest most Chinese audiences that much nowadays. Had Woo made the film into a comedy and put Huang Bo in it...now that would be box office gold! Edited December 5, 2014 by Ay72998
