I really wish The Avengers 2 can surprise us and pass $300m, that would be so incredible! Now I bet on $250m and that would be fantastic already but I really hope it can go beyond my expectations.

 

What's more important is that FF7 in China might actually pass FF7 in the US.

first propper blockbuster to earn more in one single country than in US was the last samurai in 2003 in japan. 

pacific rim was first expensive blockbuster to make few bucks more in china than in US but it was because US didnt care for pacific rim. TF4 made considerably more in china than in US, but again, it was because US didnt care that much for TF4.

But in case of FF7m US audience cares. FF7 is first blockbuster which is going to make more in china than in US and still it is very succesfull in US too.

You are using a very arbitrary definition for blockbuster, TF4 made much more than The Last Samurai even adjusted for inflation, and was the highest grosser in May-June-July.

it's too hard to make the right prediction on CBO. it always give me surprise.

• Running Man, make 433m yuan / $70m , just a reality TV show
• Macau 2 take CNY 2015 BO champion beating Jackie Chan's DB & Fantasy movie Zhong Kui (disappointed) 
• Wolf Warriors, only expect 100m+ but now 500m+ est
• FF7 will be #1 all time grosser, beating TF4
• ...etc... just wait to see other surprised thing happen next. can not imagine what going on?
