ZeeSoh
Is Wandering Earth 2 still scheduled to release during the Chinese New Year holiday period or will it move? WE1 was the first Chinese movie I saw (and I liked it) (not counting any of the Hong Kong movies from Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Donnie Yen, etc)

ThatWaluigiDude
So how about Puss in Boots 2? Any expectations on that, how is it doing on pre-sales?

Total presale on Taopiaopiao is like ¥3841 or ~$550(dollars). Want to see is a truly hilarious 5746 on Taopiaopiao and 8964 on Maoyan. Safe to say no one wants to see it, but hey, might be well received and surprise us. Edited December 19, 2022 by NCsoft

There is no better release date than this. Valentines Day could be an alternative but who knows how much worse situation can get by February. All films slated a release so far haven't moved because of covid.

John2015
It is rumored that "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" will get China release very soon. https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/hC4Hox9s_G1XDVsCy4XyXw China cinemas need to release more commercial films right now, especially under the COVID situation; otherwise many cinemas will be out of business. So it is hardly a surprise if China decide to lift the Marvel ban right now. Edited December 20, 2022 by John2015

keysersoze123
that would be a big deal. That kind of kills any rumors of MCU movies being perma banned in china. It will benefit future movies if they release day and date. 1

It would be better than let some major local films to be destroyed at the box office. Right now, it is a very bad time to release films in China (because of COVID), China wants cinemas to survive, but they also want major local films to do very well at box office; therefore, importing more overseas films is the only way to go.
