The good hold for Gravity was probably because of the very late bump for its release date. Many didnt know it got bumped to Tue, still thinking Wednesday was the opening.

I have talked to a few friends of mine and none of them was even a bit interested. But Gravity is another issue. It's slowly becoming a little "must see on the big sceen" event.

 

I hope CF gets pulled out of the theaters soon so Gravity will have more room to stretch out.

why do you think it hasn't caught on in China?

Early morning shows: CF is not far behind Gravity, at least in attendance. CF has much lower ticket price and less screenings though. Gravity takes much more IMAX shows.

 

Both should do 20m+ for the day I think.

The gap is becoming bigger ... clearly young adult flicks like Twilight/CF in China would never be as popular as in English speaking territories.

 

thinking high 400m for Gravity and middle 200m for CF in total.
