No question TA2 has higher presales than FF7 at the same point but FF7 shot up crazy over the last few days. Will TA2 do that is the question?

I think it will

Do we have some numbers what FF7 was 7,6,5 ect days before release?

Pre-Sales are just one part to the equation. Furious 7 had like 120K showtimes? including previews for it OD. It appears it played 2d and 3d while AOU is just 3d. So fewer showtimes but higher priced tickets. We need to see how high the showtimes go as well. Let us see if it can at least get 50% on its OD.

For Furious 7 Gewara finish was 575K on its release date and it sold > 10m tickets on its OD.

Even with reduced screens it should hit 350m by sunday and finish around 355m.

Avengers is looking STRONG. Can it beat Furious 7 midnights( 51m yuan?).

Its the Avengers so yes.

http://www.gewara.com/movie/207295462

AOU gewara presales 5444

Showtimes around 3,500

FF7: 10k+ midnights showtimes and 85k+ Sunday showtimes

AOU 13 days out, can AOU do 550+ more in 5 days?

FF7 8 days out

FF7 presales are hot!

Gewara numbers already hit 6k+ with more than a week to go!

No, AOU midnights won't come close to FF7 because its not opening on a weekend.

Update release date:

Tomorrowland will open May 26th, 4 days than previous date, good news for AOU it will have one more competition-free weekend.

San Andreas - June 2nd

Jurrasic World - June 10th

Insurgent - June 13th (should be last Hollywood movie before local protection period)

Indian's P.K. will open May 22nd...

Interesting. No idea how P.K. would translate to the Chinese market. It is basically a low-key movie with no big explosions or setpieces. It is the story of an alien who sets out to find god, and is rooted in Indian theology, not exactly a movie which would travel well.

I thought PK was funny. Good music with western classical instruments and of course some Bollywood dance. Great film

55% hold yesterday for FF7. The best of the run. Looking for a better hold today being it the night before a holiday. I just don't get how a movie can be the number 1 all time which had to resonate with the general population and yet few want to see it now. Cant just be the showtimes. The PSA would be high if so.  Do they just want to see brand new? TF4 managed to hold 50% per week.
