vc2002
TFOW might do 100M. Given China's boxoffice explorsion in the last two years, it would be a major disappointment if TFOW doesnt make $100m, Big budget, big star from hollywood, biggest director in China, big promotion... In fact the producer Zhang Weiping was confidently saying that his goal on this movie was "to beat Avatar". (But of cause this statement was laughable, and imo he didnt really mean that. He just wanted to build some hype.) Edited December 27, 2011 by vc2002

vc2002
The trailer does look pretty expensive, a lot of war effects and destruction.$94m means the film has to gross $200m to JUST make even. No one is stupid enough to make that kind of investment. Plus, they dont need to. Manwork in China is rather cheap. And it doesnt have expensive stars except Bale. Zhang Yimou's Hero cost only $30m, and that film had 6 MAJOR stars in China.Besides, its all about attracting the eyeballs anyway. Tron was said to cost 300m, and it turned out just a little over 150m. This kind of promotion strategy doesnt exist only in Hollywood.
