No, no point we are just going in circles.

Except, in order for us to have been going in circles, what you've been saying needs to actually be a decent counter for what I've been saying. Which it isn't.

We love being in business with Guillermo and frankly that movie, if you look it up, did I think more business than the first X-Men, did more than Batman Begins, our first movie, did more than Superman Returns, The Fast and the Furious, Star Trek - so for a movie that was an original property that we made up it’s done really well. It did north of 400 million dollars globally and both the home video sales and the merchandise have way over-indexed, so it seems like fans really loved the world. So we’re going to sit down with Guillermo and as long as we think it’s authentic and there’s something to say, we’re certainly open to it.

Here's the deal. We're very close with Guillermo. He's doing Crimson Peak for us right now. With the amount of money that we did on Pacific Rim, over $400 million, it didn't quite hit our expectations, but it did better than a lot of other films. If there's another great story to tell with Guillermo then we're all over it because we think it's really hard to create one of these things from scratch. The movie did really well on home video and merchandise, and it certainly has a big international following. We're not just going to do Pacific Rim 2 just to do it. Right now we're talking to Guillermo del Toro. If we can crack the story, we all think it's great, and it's him at the helm, then fantastic. But right now there's nothing going on officially to proclaim.

Yeah, this will never happen.

I'm actually cautiously optimistic about its chances. The producers seem to be onboard, Del Toro and Willingham have talked about ideas they've had for sequels and the recent success of Godzilla will probably help.
