I don't think even WB expected the kind of run that WW is having. They are probably quickly fast-tracking a sequel for 2019 as we speak. Probably July 2019.

It looks like Wonder Woman will reach  $750m+  even before opening in Japan.

When are they making the damn announcement? :( I want confirmation, man. I know that there will be a Wonder Woman 2 (undoubtedly), but I want WB to say it already! :D

Comic Con is the key. Keep an eye out.

This is going to easily have the best multiplier for a modern day super hero film.  Obviously you can't compare films from the pre-internet era but starting with 2002, Spider-man, this is going to eclipse that, quite handily.  Which is pretty incredible.

Title (click to view) Lifetime gross Opening weekend Multiplier WW Matching Multiplier
Guardians of the Galaxy $333,176,600 $94,320,883 3.53 $364,722,774
Spider-Man $403,706,375 $114,844,116 3.52 $362,955,269
The Dark Knight $534,858,444 $158,411,483 3.38 $348,616,906
Wonder Woman $346,644,475 $103,251,471 3.36                           n/a
Iron Man $318,412,101 $98,618,668 3.23 $333,370,126
Marvel's The Avengers $623,357,910 $207,438,708 3.01 $310,272,956
The Dark Knight Rises $448,139,099 $160,887,295 2.79 $287,598,975
Deadpool $363,070,709 $132,434,639 2.74 $283,064,801

Title / Domestic Gross / OW  / Multiplier / What Wonder Woman would have grossed with that film's multiplier

That little girl may grow up thinking she can be a wonder woman in her own way - that's great.

awesome marketing.

They could pull WW out of theaters now and it'd be mightily impressive.  The fact that it has another 40 - 60m more left in the tank is unreal.

Kinda hilarious that WW's BO was supposedly going to get killed by Transformers, The Mummy, Cars 3, Pirates etc. and it did the opposite

Some thought Captain Underpants would hurt it too.

Trinity movie would be a bad idea when WB can make way more money by making Man of Steel 2, The Batman, and Wonder Woman 2 movies instead.

and some people have changed the narrative to "WW succeeded only because of weak competition -- all the other movies were just so poorly received that WW easily became the critically acclaimed movie to see..."

WW most certainly will end up with 3.7x multi...movies don't get that kind of leg due to poor competition.

I have read all sorts of interesting "reasons" on Facebook for Wonder Woman to have made all the money it has made. One dude mentioned that "the only reason WW has surpassed BvS is because Supes and Bats gave her a great boost. Without that, it would not have made all it made. WW is nothing without Superman and Batman."

Oh, I see...her solo film, the film in which neither Batman nor Superman appeared outgrossed Man of Steel and Batman V Superman because those two male heroes gave her a boost.

Yep...makes perfect sense. :P
