5-5.5€ ($6.6-$7.3) for a student, 6-6.5€ ($8-$8.6) for an adult.With 3D: 7-7.5€ ($9.3-$10) for a student, 8-8.5€ ($10.7-$11.3) for an adult. (I think I did the conversions in the right way)I would love to tell how much an Imax ticket costs, but that thing was aborted twice now. It was supposed to start with MI4 but it was delayed until John Carer. Now, John Carter arrived... and nothing happened

Usually local movies flop here because either the marketing campaigns are fucking awful or the movie is just a limited release.

I don't even want to look at the top movies so far this year here. 2012 has been one of the worst years ever for movies in Portugal. Everything flops!

Surprisingly for a 3rd world country like us, the box office has been good for the big Hollywood flicks and we have one breakout local hit so far. Maybe it's just the ticket prices driving up the gross lol. Anyway, movies don't last that long here anymore, the longest is 5 weeks. So movies earn most of their income during the opening week, not much room for legs.When I was a kid though Titanic ran for 6 months

Well same happens here. The big blockbusters are in theaters for 5 weeks or so. The midlevel hits are in theaters for 3 or 4 weeks.Yes, Titanic was also in theaters about 4 or 5 months here

Too bad we don't have records how much Titanic earned. Actually until Box Office Mojo included the Philippines in their coverage in 2007 we don't have a clue how much movies earn here, we just have to rely on press releases by studios and of course they only do that for the blockbuster hits

We have a top 40 released every weekend and a top 20 released every week.But somehow we only have movies listed from 2004 and beyond.

Wow thank you! I didn't know that I don't remember the exchange rate that time though but let's say it was around 35 PHP so the Philippine gross is around 170 million pesos which is very big because that time movie tickets were very cheap (20-40 pesos).

We Filipinos love movies. Still one of the cheapest forms of entertainment and family bonding. We have more theaters than most European countries. We even have three IMAX screens now if I'm not mistaken, with plans to install more. Edited April 5, 2012 by kayumanggi

True. Anyway we have 4 IMAX Screens now: MOA, North Edsa, Southmall and SM Cebu.
