kayumanggi
Schools are on vacation and families flock to Marvel movies here all the time. They're like an event. lol Like I said in the main AVENGERS thread, this could make 10 M in 5 days, surpassing BP, JL, and BATB's totals.
kayumanggi
But let me just comment on how amazing A QUIET PLACE has been doing here. I can't remember any movie that did what it has done: increase by more than 90% on its second weekend. That is insane! Too bad it will lose a lot of screens to AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. 1

forg
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War Now the All-Time Biggest Grossing Movie in the Philippines Earns P730.1-M in Six Days, and Still Counting MANILA, May 1, 2018 – Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” continued to make history at the Philippine box-office as it became the All-Time Highest-Grossing Movie in the country after only six days of release. Cementing its phenomenal run, the epic action-adventure achieved the stunning feat with a gross of P730.1 million, outpacing Disney’s 2017 live-action “Beauty and the Beast” whose entire run of P677.1 million formerly held the record. It’s worth noting that the top six films ever released in the Philippines were all from Disney. Beside the aforementioned two, the rest are “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Marvel’s The Avengers” and “Iron Man 3.” Earlier Sunday, “Avengers: Infinity War” already shattered the All-Time Biggest Opening Weekend record with a five-day opening weekend gross of a breathtaking P650.1 million. Along the way, the film also left previous daily records in the dust, including Biggest Saturday at P151.8 million and Biggest Sunday at P148.3 million. These slew of records may be jaw-dropping but hardly a surprise. Fan anticipation for the 19th film in Marvel Studios' stellar 10-year history has been fever-pitch, as the stakes have never been higher story-wise, this marking the end of Phase 3. There is a palpable feeling that the revelations will come to a point of no return, and fans are bracing themselves for the inevitable. Regardless of the conclusion, the excitement has definitely translated into incredible box-office, with moviegoers and Marvels fans seeing the film more than once. “Avengers: Infinity War” rolled out in 849 screens across the country, with an estimate of over 2.4 million admissions. forg
It's the talk of the town and no major releases until Deadpool 2 will give it a good run (plus Deadpool 2 will not get the kiddie audience so there's that). Wonder Woman and BATB last year had really good legs Edited May 2, 2018 by forg

forg
“INCREDIBLES 2” TRIUMPHANTLY RETURNS WITH P133.1-M IN 5 DAYS, Biggest Opening Weekend Ever for a Disney-Pixar Title MANILA, June 19, 2018 -- The Supers returned and heroically took over the Philippine box-office! Disney-Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” debuted at No.1 this week, bowing with a P133.1-M five-day opening weekend (June 14 - 18), shattering the record for Biggest Disney-Pixar Opening Weekend of All-Time in the country. The animated superhero film bested the record established in 2016 by “Finding Dory” at P101.7-M. “Incredible 2’s” Friday, June 15 gross of P32.7-M meanwhile clobbered the record previously held by 2015’s “Minions” (P32-M) for the Biggest Friday Ever for an Animation Film in the Philippines. It’s a smash comeback for the Parr family of superheroes, whose presence on the big screen has been missed by Filipinos for 14 long years. Pent-up demand for a sequel and nostalgia have triggered a fevered audience enthusiasm, exemplified by a sensational first weekend. The Manila visit of Pixar animator and “Incredibles 2” shading art director Bryn Imagire and her portraits of local celebrity families added interest to the film. The long-weekend and Father’s Day celebration also helped drive families to the cinemas. The opening weekend figures of the Brad Bird-directed film are also ahead when compared to recent Pixar blockbusters such as “Inside Out” (lower by 25%), “Big Hero 6” (73%), “Monsters University” (108%) and “Toy Story 3” (117%). The original movie, “The Incredibles” opened in 2004 with P18.1-M. More families and moviegoers are expected to watch "Incredibles 2” as it comes to its second week in Philippine cinemas nationwide. forg
“THE MEG” DEVOURS P63.4-M IN 5 DAYS, OPENS AT NO.1 IN PH MANILA, Aug. 13, 2018 -- Warner Bros. Pictures’ giant shark thriller “The Meg” took the biggest bite off the Philippine box office this weekend to open at No.1. The Jason Statham actioner grossed a splashy P63.4-million for the five-day opening weekend (Aug. 8 to 12) in only 274 screens, becoming Warner’s best opener for the year todate after “Rampage” (P59.7-M) and “Tomb Raider” (P57.6-M). The slasher film’s above-expectations performance bodes well for its anticipated robust second frame. “The Meg” will continue playing in IMAX and 4D screens this week, enabling moviegoers to still enjoy the ocean-bound adventure’s escapist fun. “The Meg’s” worldwide total gross now stands at $141-M, including $44.5-M in North America. The film is distributed in the Philippines by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Entertainment Company. About “The Meg” Jason Statham (“Spy,” “The Fate of the Furious,” “The Expendables” films) and award-winning Chinese actress Li Bingbing (“Transformers: Age of Extinction”) star in the science fiction action thriller “The Meg,” directed by Jon Turteltaub (the “National Treasure” movies). A deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, former deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is drawn out of self-imposed exile by a visionary Chinese oceanographer, Dr. Zhang (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter, Suyin (Li Bingbing), who thinks she can rescue the crew on her own. But it will take their combined efforts to save the crew, and the ocean itself, from this seemingly unstoppable threat—a prehistoric 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. Thought to be extinct, the Meg turns out to be very much alive…and on the hunt. Five years before, Jonas had encountered this same terrifying creature, but no one had believed him. Now, teamed with Suyin, Jonas must confront his fears and risk his own life to return to the ocean depths…bringing him face to face once more with the apex predator of all time. 3
