Lincoln OS Thread, not Flopping that hard 66.5m

Recommended Posts

Decent.

Multiple Oscar nominee Lincoln began its roll-out and grossed $3.1m from Spain and Mexico. The historical drama opened in second place in Spain on $2.3m from 344 and placed third in Mexico on $729,391 from 259.

We'll see about that.  But either way, there's no way OS is beating domestic, and that will make it one of the only 3 movies that made over 150m this year with an OS % of less than 50.

Well, it is a film entrenched in America. Not everything travels. It's also been such a huge hit DOM that it doesn't even matter.

100m is the target for Lincoln to be an OS hit, 75m is the bar of success which will be achieved comfortably. It should do less than 50m to call it a flop, so yes calling it flopping hard is trolling and stupid considering the films upcoming Oscar publicity.

I'll just say this right now, but I do not think that any number of Oscar wins will have a significant impact on its OS gross. This movie just got 12 fucking Oscar noms, the most OD the ear, and the magical bump that we'd expect to see in the OS openings never happened.
