riczhang
Only if the thread creator an idiot. Which he is keeping "flop" in the title. Lincoln is a hit, 75m will happen, maybe even 100m if it wins the Oscar.I don't think it'll get an Oscar bump OS. It just scored 12 noms, most of the year and OS saw no bump. None at all, in fact some territories it's doing very poorly in. It'll need to sweep to get a bump, and we all know that even if Lincoln wins BP it won't sweep. A Marvel Fanboy
Licncoln costed $100M to market and $60M to produce. With 300M WW bo, not that profitable as some might think.

lab276
200M DOM only sub 100M OS, flop is a flop OS, no spin ... I don't understand how it can be a flop. The subject matter is very US intensive and not every film can be Forrest Gump. It's doing well for the film it is.
A Marvel Fanboy
It should have at least been doing 200M OS ...
Fullbuster
It should have at least been doing 200M OS ... I don't see how it could, you overestimated its potential. The movie will be profitable and will be useful in the long run given it could be use in schools to tell the life of Lincoln.
A Marvel Fanboy
It's only doing half of DOM in oversea markets. And that's why it is a flop OS. A truth, no spin. No more talking. End
Tower
whether a film is a flop or success isn't related to its DOM gross, it's has to do with its actual numbers while taking into account the kind of film it is. For example John Carter made almost 3 times as much OS as DOM, but that didn't make it a success, because a big budget fantasy film should be making a lot more than JC made. End Do I have to say it again? It is an Amero-centric film. Why on earth would it do gangbusters OS?

The Dark Alfred
Nope, you're trolling and clearly have no clue of OS box office in terms of Lincoln if you were expecting 200m OS. That's just an insane thought. This is a 2 and half hour talking drama which if it wasn't a masterpiece would gross 40m domestic, 30m OS. For this to hit 75m and possibly 100m OS is a great achievement, so calling it a flop is trolling. Plain and simple.
