It's better than Gravity, which I really didn't enjoy all that much, although I recognize its technological brilliance. But better than the Matrix? Not sure I'd go that far.

 

Inception was a 10/10 for me on first viewing, but the "explain everything to the audience" exposition can get a bit tiresome on repeated viewings. That's my only complaint, though. Tremendous final act.

Gravity is more visuals.

 

Inception and Matrix excel more on story, character and themes.

gravity is a purely visual experience indeed.

 

the matrix is very enjoyable, i'll give it that, but any time any of the characters opened their mouth to spout their pop philosophy, it was quite unbearable. fate, destiny, love saving the day, finding your inner self, blah blah blah.

Just did a rewatch today... and it's very meh actually. Besides the last half hour, it's dull and doesn't really keep my attention. That said, the ending with the gravity fight and Fischer's glorious scene remains amazing. Still, I gotta lower my grade to a B

 

The score remains awesome though

To be honest, that's a pretty darn good movie analysis. I'm impressed.
