Top Films of 2011 (AU)

Recommended Posts

Top Films of 2011 - Australia Box Office Records

The following lists are the top films of 2011. I'll post the updated list as required (ie. when they need updating)

FYI - AFC track calendar year - i'm tracking by release date (year) ie. the film is released in 2011. Hence the numbers may look a little different in some cases (for example The Kings Speech will appear in the 2011 charts on AFC but is part of the 2010 chart under the rules i run here.)

I'll wait until BD opens before putting an update up.... The only change to this is Red Dog passed 21m as of sunday. :D Looks to be good enough for it to be in the top 10 for the year (maybe)Other Potential Films for 2011:Breaking Dawn 1 (well doh) - 27m to 33m i think is the range for this ?Immortals - 8m to 14m ? (could this break out though ??)Puss in Boots - 15m+ but i have no idea how much above ?New Year's Eve - i smell a flop here but still - 10m to 15m ?MI4 - 10m+ (I dare not go higher for a min but who knows where this will end up)Happy Feet 2 - 20m+ (i don't think 20m is locked but should happen given the previous film 31m ???)Tin Tin - 15m to 25m ?Tower Heist - 5m to 10mWar Horse - 10m ?Thats it from 2011 (alvin and sherlock will be 2012 films so wont' appear in this list)- jajang

New years eve I don't think will flop. Goodwill down here at least for valentines day will bring in the numbers, and as long as it sticks with the same idea, it'll do well. Puss in boots will get 18-22m I think.

Alvin is on the 1st of january for some reason. Sherlock is the 5th and muppets the 12th.

The Muppets is goin to get slaughtered by Alvin. No chance in hell that Muppets will stop the juggernaut that is Alvin and the Chipmunks!

alvin is massive with the kids, but I think we'll all be surprised by how well the muppets will do. Alvin has 11 days to burn of demand.

I don't know about how it appears on your screen, but on mine the table extends beyond the post border. It makes it hard to see.

try holding control and using your scroll button on your mouse... allows you to zoom in and out of the page (I think this works on IE, chrome (which i use) and)not a lot can be done unfortunately as i think the software on here doesn't deal with it too well still. you must be zoomed in too far at the moment... thats how i get it to fit anyway.

Ok here is how I see things now:Projections -Breaking Dawn 1 - 31mPredictions -Puss in Boots - 23mNew Years Eve - 16mMission Impossible 4 - 14mHappy Feet 2 - 15m (I'm thinking this could lower given it's run so far elsewhere)Tin Tin - 24m (upping this as the family film of choice between Christmas and new years swapping places with HF2. )Other potentials for top 20 but my prediction places them outside the top 20. War horse. Hugo. Dragon tattoo, Muppets, Alvin 3 and Sherlock Holmes 2 are 2012 releases here. - Jajang.
