Beasts was boring. How on earth did the girl get nominated for an Oscar? She's good, but not Oscar-worthy at all. The film was too dull.

Yup. I'll make one when I get up tomorrow morning. Ceremony is at 5pm PST I think, so making a thread at 10am PST shouldn't be too early.

I'm going to predict Argo for PGA, though Lincoln and SLP certainly wouldn't surprise me. I'm also expecting DGA to go to Affleck. 

 

SAG isn't entirely indicative (though SLP will probably win there) but PGA certainly is. They use the same preferential ballot voting system as the Oscars, and I expect Argo to get enough #2 and #3 votes to take it. PGA, like the new Academy system, rewards the most generally agreeable film. Argo has a lot of passion and no one really dislikes the movie. Lincoln and SLP have more detractors. I think Affleck's directing snub may have done him more good than bad considering how much sympathy he is getting in the press (it's notable that Bigelow hasn't received nearly as much public sympathy). 

 

This is the now or never weekend. If Argo takes PGA and SLP takes SAG then Lincoln's pretty much out. If Lincoln takes PGA and SLP takes SAG then I was wrong about Argo and Lincoln is the frontrunner. If Lincoln takes both it's the frontrunner, if SLP takes both it's the frontrunner.
