Impact
In 1995 a kid in school said that Mortal Kombat WILL be nominated!
MovieMan89
I saw in my EW Vin Diesel thinks fast six will get Oscar talk lol I saw that too and about spit out my water when I read it. It didn't seem like he was being sarcastic or tongue in cheek at all either.
ChD
I saw in my EW Vin Diesel thinks fast six will get Oscar talk lol Then Fast Six must be very special compared to the other... I wonder what is it: more explosions or more car chase? This guy is turning into Michael Bay. The bigger (the explosions) the better (the Oscar 'talk')
RichWS
It could get a Sound nod.
MovieMan89
It could get a Sound nod. Yeah, but ol' Vinny was talking BP shot.

MovieMan89
Monuments Men, Wolf of Wall Street, American Hustle, and August: Osage County are the movies I'm hearing the most BP buzz about. I wonder if any of those will be very commercially successful though?
Leyla
I see Monuments Men, Wolf of Wall Street doing decent BO
Impact
Counselor moved to October-you know that actually is a good sign if you think about it as October dramas tend to be nominated and even win sometimes.
Blankments
Hustle should do well thanks to the cast and if they market it as "From the director of SLP, and the writer of Argo."
Impact
Okay upon just seeing you saying the title "Hustle" I was thinking it was a film about the dance move "The Hustle"
Impact
Early predictions: The Counselor Wolf of Wall Street Out of the Furnace Fruitville Before Midnight Nebraska American Hustle Have to think about other films to put. Possibly:Mr. Banks August The Butler Captain Philips 42 (If they are running low they could, doubtful but you never know) Untitled film that does not come out till December I chose one of the Wienstien films for now, was unsure which to chose. I don't think Fruitvale will be nominated.
Jake Gittes
Hustle should do well thanks to the cast and if they market it as "From the director of SLP, and the writer of Argo." Only the writer of Argo had nothing to do with it
Jake Gittes
Unless the late-year competition is exceptionally strong, I think Fruitvale Station is in for BP, Actor and Original Screenplay.
riczhang
I think Fruitvale has a much stronger shot for Supporting Actress than Actor. Both leading categories are very crowded. I think some leading people could be campaigned as supporting because of that. (Amy Adams (she is borderline anyways though), And Roberts being prime examples)
Blankments
Only the writer of Argo had nothing to do with it Derp, mixed it up with The Ends of the Earth. Still think it'll do well though.
Ozymandias
I hope The Counselor or The Wolf of Wall Street wins.
riczhang
Academy invited 276 new members to join this year. Not a fan at all of the list. There are some lovely inclusions such as Legend Riva, JGL, Delpy for writing, Kim Nguyen for directing(?), and Zeitlin. But overall really odd, don't like it at all.
Sims
One of my theatre professors was invited into the Academy! Her name's Alma Martinez, and I guess she's much more successful than I realized. Edited June 28, 2013 by Sims
