Sims
I can't really see Twelve Years A Slave doing as well as he expects.
riczhang
12 Years a Slave is insanely good though. Subject matter is too harsh though.
CoolioD1
I'm surprised how big Tapley went on that and Rush. He's predicting 10 nominations for each.
Impact
Early predictions: The Counselor Wolf of Wall Street Out of the Furnace Fruitville Before Midnight Nebraska American Hustle Have to think about other films to put. Possibly:Mr. Banks August The Butler Captain Philips 42 (If they are running low they could, doubtful but you never know) Untitled film that does not come out till December I chose one of the Wienstien films for now, was unsure which to chose. I don't think Fruitvale will be nominated. Okay I think Grace will be there considering it had the lucky release date that the recent Weinstien films have had. I know I have more posts on here about my picks-but I'm not going to search the entire thread Monument Men and Gravity are also possible. riczhang
I think Grace could be nominated. Academy loves Biopics, and Grace is good. Like very good. It looked to be an actress only film but now it's looking good in many categories including supporting actor.
mahnamahna
Ugh... more Oscar bait, seriously do blockbusters have a chance in this day and age?

AniNate
Ugh... more Oscar bait, seriously do blockbusters have a chance in this day and age? So far none have been worthy this year
luna
Ugh... more Oscar bait, seriously do blockbusters have a chance in this day and age? oscar bait and movies-that-aren't-blockbusters are pretty distant cousins
pieman
Ugh... more Oscar bait, seriously do blockbusters have a chance in this day and age? Argo, Lincoln, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Silver Linings Playbook, Django Unchained were all hit films. If by blockbusters you mean cartoonish comic book movies then I don't think many of them are good enough to be nominated.
Michael Gary Scott
Tdk was that will probably the closest a comic book movie will ever come.
riczhang
Tdk was that will probably the closest a comic book movie will ever come.I dunno. If they can get enough passion the 5/1 system could get one in.
Impact
Tdk was that will probably the closest a comic book movie will ever come. Unless if you include the film "Skippy" from 1931 that was based off of a comic strip.

Empire
Ugh... more Oscar bait, seriously do blockbusters have a chance in this day and age? If Elysium is as good as District 9, it might have a chance.
Sims
I'm so torn on my loyalty to Gravity. On the one hand, I LOVE Cuaron and have been waiting for him to get his due. On the other hand, I HATE both Clooney and Bullock with a seething passion.

Sims
It has to be better than District 9 to make it in a more competitive year, but I am not ruling it out at all.
