Our Fiesta del Cine is on May 22-24, which means Arthur and Alien are the big movies available. Hopefully both will make it increased compared to last year's 2nd edition (which suffered a decrease from the insane first edition).

I had not noticed you have Fiesta del Cine too :)

So, it started last year and May was quite bigger than Autumn edition? We have the opposite scenario here. The record is hold by the last October edition with 2.6m admissions (this week barely 1.5m).

This market is sadly in a bad shape. It almost feels like Avatar will never be beaten considering even SW7 did not even do 1/2 of Avatar. What is the potential of SW8?

Avatar was an anomaly (like was everywhere). 8 Apellidos Vascos sold nearly the same amount of admissions and look the difference in gross. The 3D doping was absurd. The reality is that the market is in fact recovering after very hard years. Last year we recovered the 100m admissions mark, something that did not happen since 2010.

I would say that SW8 will fall to maybe €25m.

We only have the May edition

In 2015, a bit over 200000 tickets were sold on the 3 day period, while last year it topped at 175000 tickets sold.

... and that second part whose name I can not remember... Talking about serious things, maybe we have to wait another 20 years until Avatar is beaten in euros... Such impressive gross!! I did not see it at theaters and I do not find it a good film, but I recognize that Cameron knows how to make people go to watch movies

Yeah, i have serious doubts about Avatar gross in Euros being beaten at all in the future. Do you know what's the top 5 of all time in admissions here? I saw Avatar 4 times in 4 different months and all 4 shows were sold out with people clapping and cheering. I've not seen that behaviour from spanish moviegoers ever, maybe only comparable with Titanic in 1997. Certainly Cameron is king in term of modern movie records.

Where do you think Avatar 2 will land in terms of gross in euros?

Very very hard to know atm. It will decrease in admissions and Euros of course, but how much? I have not the slightest idea to be honest.

Agreed with @picores Very hard to say, like everywhere. If I have to bet today, I would say around 5 million admissions (like SW7), what would mean, with a reasonable 3D ratio, about 35-40 million euros. 1/2 of first part. But I insist, it is a very random prediction.
