75Live Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Depends on the definition of best. :PBut to me, the Luke/Vader one in ROTJ is the best because it has such a combination of everything. For just plain skill, the QGJ/Obi Wan/Maul wins. 1
ddddeeee Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Vader/Luke - ROTJMost emotional and aggressive, no silly dance moves. 1
Ariadne Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 The one in Phantom Menace was the best skills-wise.
Mojoguy Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 TMP had the best skills shownESB had the best emotion
Phil in the Blank Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 ESB for me. You don't need super quick and perfectly timed choreography to make a great light saber battle. You need to feel for the characters and the situation they are in.
4815162342 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Filmwise, it has to be the ESB duel. But taking television into account, I feel the actual best saber duel overall depicted onscreen is Anakin Skywalker vs. Asajj Ventress in the Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars shorts that came out between AOTC and ROTS. Total kinetic awesomeness.
ddddeeee Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Kind of epitomises everything wrong with the prequels in a single gif.
acetabulum7 Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Just for kicks, I'm gonna say Yoda vs Count Dooku. The back and forth dialogue was pretty cool, and it felt like a nice chess match. Plus, it got the best crowd reaction, ever. It's too bad the dialogue for the Yoda vs Palpatine match was generic crap, considering how cool it was when they rose up into the Senate chamber while battling.
