DAR
Seriously I'd like to someone in Hollywood why this needs to be remade. The animated special is perfect. There was no need for live action remake and there is no need for this. Hollywood, go fuck yourself

Its Illumination Entertainment, made other Dr. Seuss movies, no reason not get it made and will make a lot.
Jessie
So what was so bad about the one with Jim Carrey that they have to remake this??? He got the job done.. What more do they want??? A hefty pay check. Fair play to them.

BadAtGender
I can totally understand why they'd do this. But after seeing The Lorax, I can't imagine this will be any good.
Founder / Operator Shawn Posted January 16, 2014 Founder / Operator Share Posted January 16, 2014 Makes sense financially to do this, and one could argue almost two decades is a reasonable wait in between updates, but Carrey's version is considered a new classic by a lot of people. This will probably be a hit on some level, but I can't see it being near the box office phenom that was the 2000 rendition. Frankly, I could see it doing along the modest business of Zemeckis' A Christmas Carol with some accounting for inflation.

Chewy
It will make a lot of money and kids will like it. No real reason to get upset. Sure it's completely pointless but it's certainly not alone in that boat, lol
