Impact
Okay now-I will admit there are quite a few Russel Crowe performances that come to mind. But one performance I'm sure I'm one of the few I still think should of been nominated for actor is Will Smith for I am Legend. Yes you read that correct.
Impact
In 2011 I wanted Ben Kingsly to be nominated. Eastwood for Gran Torrino. Quite a few villains this year I wanted to be nominated. Sean Astin for ROTK. (Who showed up quite a bit on web sites then) Chris Cooper for Seabiscut. Matt Damon for True Grit.
CoolioD1
Way too many to count. But performances that seemed like they came close and couldn't make it in - Dennis Quaid in Far From Heaven Paul Giamatti in Sideways Tilda Swinton in We Need To Talk About Kevin Albert Finney in Big Fish Maria Bello in A History of Violence

Impact
More: Jim Carrey for The Majestic Michael Cain for Batman Begins (I never really liked him until then Though I did enjoy him in Secondhand Lions I will admit) Ed Harris for A Beautiful Mind Paul Betteny for Master and Comander Michelle Pfifer for What Lies Beneath (Who I actually thought was a frontrunner back in 2000. Hey don't blame me. Blame Roger Ebert and his reviews )

fishstick
I`m beyond happy that overrated overactor Sean "Afterschool Special" Astin got two middle fingers up from Oscars and televized precursors. If Sean Bean couldn`t get a nomination for FOTR (I know that McKellen snagged it but Bean would still make my ballot over him or with him) than Astin`s Oscah whoring definitely didn`t deserve shit. Also happy that Bello wa signored for HoV. Her overgrown bush must be one of the most disgusting things ever put on the screen. I gagged. Smith in I Am Legend is an excellent call because he was phenomenal. Other stupid snubs: Leo in CMIYC Leo in The Departed (he was nominated for Blood Diamond instead and that killed his chances since The Departed was nominated for Best Picture) Leo in Shutter Island Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge Vincent Cassel in Black Swan Fass in Hunger and Shame Melanie Laurant in IB Diane Kruger in IB Uma Thurman in KB Vol.1 and 2 Lucy Liu in KB Vol.1 Shit, whole cast of KB Vol.1 and 2 Connie Nielsen in Gladiator The Nanny in Mulholand Drive Imelda Staunton in HP:OotP RDJ in IM Karl Urban in Star Trek (if Arkin can get a nod than Karl should have gottan it ten times over) Eva Green in Casino Royale Max Pirkis in Master and Commander (as far as child acting goes he was tops) Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail (Youngest Salim) in Slumdog Millionaire (the movie went to shit when he was replaced by older actors) Edited February 15, 2013 by fishnets
