This is how I feel about Streep

http://youtu.be/LjfkynJ4hbI

To quote Robert Langdon:

"My mind tells me that I will never Understand God."

Il Camerlengo "And your heart?"

"Tells me I'm not meant to. Faith is a gift I have yet to receive"

Michael would probably get Meryl better if she was a quirky, hot 25 year old. Whatever.

Idk why your fixating on this. I can like something if someone is not hot in it case in point Roseanne one of my fav shows of all time there are no hot people in it and i love that so you need to knock this off. I find Meryl Streep to be overrated. I dont get all the love she gets. Its my opinion and you can disagree with me all you want but to say i only care about wbgirl looks when watching movies give me a freaking break.

DDL and Streep are virtusosos but virtuosity can be cold at times.

You are more impressed than moved.

I don't agree with that. Sophie's choice moved me immensely. And so did Kramer vs. Kramer.

It's like everyone here is insistent on committing grand felonies. YOU DO NOT "NOT GET", INSULT, DISLIKE, BE APATHETIC TO, AND OTHERWISE DISREGARD GODDESS MERYL. :P

Bullshit. Meryl is the world's greatest virtuoso, and in addition to that she brings you into her heart, touches your soul, and makes you understand and sympathise even with ice queens. You felt for Miranda Priestly even though she was the dragon lady, she made you empathise with the Iron Lady despite not giving up one shred of the Iron Lady's stamina to soften her up. She can stay true to even her coldest of roles and make it relate-able, make it human, take it and make you cry, laugh, and cheer for them. She makes you feel.

And, Meryl rant over. :P Thanks for enduring.

I said at times, Streep is the rare case where the virtuoso can be very emotional.

Loved her in The Bridges of Madison County

Blanchett is  a cold virtusoso most of the times for example.
