Tiebreaker Prediction: High Life

Yeah I have to agree. Please stop doing my job for me.

I understand the temptation since the "picks" are public, but while anyone can follow along the votes privately, most people here don't do that so posting tallies influences them to change their minds. For example your tallies have just prompted me to change one of my BP choices in order to prevent a certain film from being in a tiebreaker.

The easiest way would be to have everyone PM me, but I think an open process for the first stage is better.

Should we not have a Foreign category this year? There's only two foreign films that I can think of (Le Grand Ecran and Shepard & The Daugher Of The Sun), and Le Grand Ecran would probably win.

We still have enough docs to have that category, though.

With only two foreign films it's not enough.

If there's at least 3 docs but no more than 5 then they automatically become the nominees. What ones do we have?

Same thing happened with Flowers of Arvika. I take that as a win as there was no other foreigh films. I tend to make one every year. You can show your support for La Grand Ecran is other categorioes - it deserves it and for Shepherd in the best actress cat. ;)

I also have to make a case for The Zone's score and cinematography - if Malick is not your cup of tea that's fine, but that two element of the film shall not be overlooked. :)

Oh and I also think that we shouldn't be allowed to edit our picks in the main categories.

If you want the initial submission to be a final one then the only way to ensure that is through PMs.

But if we keep the picks as posts, I see no good reason to prevent people from changing their minds.
