AniNate
Missed this bit of info last month, but apparently Steve Purcell will be credited as a co-director and writer http://www.strangekidsclub.com/2012/03/12/a-carefree-and-chaotic-conversation-with-cartoonist-writer-and-animator-steve-purcell/
kayumanggi
Why? the Hair? Nope. The Pixar brand.
kayumanggi
And that wasn't even a very good movie. So there's no reason Brave shouldn't be able to reach the mark. BINGO.
kayumanggi
Even the most hated Pixar film made 190 M plus. 200 M is gonna be easy.
kayumanggi
Correction: the Lorax was a very good movie. So there's no reason Brave shouldn't be able to reach the mark. THE LORAX was so so for me. Some parts were annoying. Big OW but not good legs for an animated film.
MovieMan89
The Lorax bugged even me with its preachy agenda, and it's pretty hard for something like that to get under my skin. They went way overboard though for a kid's movie. And beyond that, the movie was mediocre at best.
Gopher
Lorax isn't having the greatest legs for a kids movie. The opening was very big, but it's going to barely reach a 3x multiplier with no competition ins the kids market. I don't get the impression WOM is very good, especially with non-families. forg
I thought The Lorax would be at 230-250m by now anyway good legs or not, the movie is still a big success. Good luck to Brave, I think it should do well but can't blame people if they are skeptical coz in some way it's a pivotal film for Pixar since all eyes will be on them to know if they can shake off the bad press they received from Cars 2. MovieMan89
I wish Horton Hears a Who could've had Lorax's opening instead. Infinitely superior Suess film that would've had great WOM with a $70m opening.

Mayhem2x3
this, Horton is so superior Horton was smarter, but not nearly as fun. (I would even say Horton was a bit boring, but...)
