Hiccup
I like Cars 2 better than Toy Story 3 and Up. Ducks for cover.
MagnetMan
Oh, and all that's fine. (I'm in a very "Live and let live" mood today.) I just think the aging montage at the beginning of Up is unbelievably moving/emotional film making for ANY film. Much less animation. The Futurist
I know the Cars 2 hate but the action and set pieces are incredible, production design, incredible CGI Tokyo-French Riviera-London-Oil RIg : eye candy I cannot refuse. IN Blu Ray, it just looks stunning. VIsually, Toy Story 3 and Up are a bit flat to my eye. (still incredible, it s Pixar folks).

lab276
The problem with Up is the second half of the film. I don't like that it becomes something of an action film.

kayumanggi
CARS ll is the most visually stunning computer animated film EVER. BRAVE could top that.
kayumanggi
Toy Story movies are my least favorite Pixar films. I don't get the nostalgia about plastic shit made in China in labour camps. At all. Up bores me and I don't like old people. Inner peace please.
Fakhir
Most critics are comparing it to previous Pixar efforts like Up And Toy Story and calling it conventional. Well sometimes you gotta stay in the mold and still do your best. Which it seems the movie did.
senmitsuji
I found toy story 3 to be incredibly moving lol but I was the same age as Andy when I watched it.. so that might've been the reason why I liked it.
A Marvel Fanboy
Another miss? It's at 86% on RT and there's no sign that it's a failure. For Pixar: not great = miss
ddddeeee
I love the opening to Up and the ending to Toy Story 3, otherwise they fall near the lower end of the ranks for Pixar for me.
Mojoguy
PIXAR doesn't need a good movie, it needs another CLASSIC after that terrible Cars 2. If Brave is just a good movie it means the golden age of PIXAR has finally come to an end.
whoot
For Pixar: not great = miss Is that you Todd McCarthy? Seriously though, if a Pixar movie was created because of a subject the director felt passionate about, but the end result wasn't Brad Birdian, I don't think they should be penalized for trying, especially with new directors. If however they produce soulless sellout garbage like Cars 2 and they miss, then they deserve all the crap they get.
Mojoguy
DreamWorks Animation makes average and sometimes good movies. People expect more from PIXAR, they expect classics. When critics don't get that they will get disappointed with the movie, which seems to be happening right now with Brave.

I definitely agree with this. If more movies did that, in general, everyone would be much happier.

I just quoted Druv by reference to hiccup's "Crap Pixar looks like it has another miss. Hopefully Monsters University isn't shitty because I am really looking forward to that" . Mojoguy
Remember how disappointed people were with Pocahontas when it came out after Lion King? Yeah, it seems it might happen with Brave. I really hope Brave is awesome, especially after we got that crappy Cars 2.
The Futurist
The best Pixar film since Wall e is called How to Train your Dragon. A true classic.
pinocchio
So, Brave still looks as boring and predictable as I assumed months ago?
