Dayuuuum, they are going in for that greatest show of all time title aren't they? What an immaculately crafted finale to possibly the best season yet. Sure there were a couple episodic lulls throughout, but this season truly floored me in quality on the whole. The setup for the end game is utterly flawless. I just hope they can deliver upon it now.

The opening setpiece with the Wildfire Napalm bomb was perfectly executed.

I have some nits to pick here and there, but overall a very good finale that culminated in the thing everyone has wanted since the end of Season 1: Dany finally getting the fuck over to Westeros.

So its Dorne + DOthraki + Targaryen +Unsullied + Dragons + Tyrells + Grey Joys against Mad Queen Cerci?

Yeah, a little one-sided.

In the books we're set-up for a right clusterfuck of about 8 different factions converging for a power grab:

Lannisters

Tyrells

Faith

The Vale

Euron the Superhero/Bond Villain

(F)Aegon and his coalition

Whoever wins the fight in the North (Stannis/Boltons/Stark Loyalists/etc)

Dany and her empire whenever she decides to come join the party

Though I imagine at least a couple of the above will be neutralized by the time Dany shows up.

Nah, I still think there's been at least 2 better seasons, but this was a good season. There was a lot of movement, a lot of things happened, a lot predicable, and the execution a little sloppy, but the number of things happening made up for it.

But this was an episode where they didn't rush too much with the payoffs so it stands as certainly the best episode of the season and certainly one of my favorites in the entire series. The opening sequence was a great thing that felt earned.

Season 4 might be a little better on the whole, only because there wasn't a "filler" type episode the whole season. But this season is right on its heels for me.

1,2, and 3 are all about the peaks and the valleys and lol let's not talk about 5.

I will admit I got a bit ragey at the screen when they stole Doran's big reveal moment of Book 4 and gave it to Ellaria (with an assist by Varys). At least Diana Rigg got to throw shade at the Stupid Snakes.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the Tower of Joy scene since they tried to be coy and have their cake and eat it too by being all secretive and then smash-cutting to a close-up of Jon's face while the Stark theme kicked in. We're at the end of Season 6, just lay out the truth and info as a reward.

It's funny because book-readers have been waiting for Howland Reed to finally show up to lay the truth on Jon et al, and now the show cut out the middleman and will have Bran do the info-dump instead.

What a packed episode. And like I thought, John is a targaryen. I wonder how this will pan out with Danny. I can see it now, maybe not with her but in an episode where fire engulfs and kills everyone but leaves John uneffected, leaving him being like wtf? (kind of like how danny first discovered it)

So I'm a bit confused: when the grandmother went to doran and had that meeting, who were they referring too as help? Danny? Someone else?

I'm not sure about the whole Cerci rising to power thing, it just felt way over dramatic and everything laying out perfectly for it to work. Plus we never really get a feel for how she feels about her last child dying, she didn't look upset nor happy (for revenge I guess against him), she just seemed neutral to it which is weird.

Was it just me that was annoyed with Davos? I mean seriously dude, he's getting all emotional now at the red witch for killing the girl but as I recall, wasn't it him that begged the red witch to use said power to bring John back to life? Hypocrite much? So it's okay for her to use her magic when it's what you want? And I loved the witch's comment back at him, basically saying yeah, I didn't see her father nor even her mother doing anything so they even approved the kill and didn't lift a finger.  (look, it was one of the most horrific moments I felt in game of thrones watching her burn to death, not saying it wasn't the witches fault, on the contrary. However, davos acts like he had no part in it or blame).

I don't know why, but I just feel like they are setting Danny up to fail to me. It just seems like they are making her look so badass, only so that when she fails into pieces it tears everyones heart out.

I did not see Arya coming out like that, that part was probably the most wtf of the entire episode to me, very well done.

I don't know if I've ever been more entertained by a character than Cersei. What a complete mess.

I gotta say, this is probably the most ludicrous and hilariously dark way to attain the throne and I figured you'd be all over it.

Blows up the Septum, King commits suicide, Cersei is absolved of her trial and given title of Queen, because.

You catch Jon Snow's official royal nickname?

The White Wolf.

The writers know what side the bread is buttered on.
