I really liked the last episode despite recognizing the flaws in some of the execution. Loved Arya killing the NK. And my biggest complaints were that I could barely see the battle and Cersei not getting a dose of the army of the dead.

 

This episode was pretty much crap. Didn’t have the suspense and excitement of the last episode or the character building moments of the first 2 episodes. Just a lot of stupidity all around. The best character of this season remains Arya. Sansa continues to sink lower. And that’s saying something because I started the season wanting Sansa on the throne. Everyone but Arya can die at this point for all I care.

lmfao at the random and completely unearned way of killing a dragon, Cersei might as well had 20 goons poison it offscreen.  Now this may be a bit "out there" but bear with me.  After season 7 episode 4 where one of her dragons gets hit with the ballista, you'd think maybe Dany would have her blacksmiths fashion some armor for her dragons? Yeah yeah I know, but turning Drogon into Deathwing would've redeemed this season but that would be too awesome for this show.

 

The Dan/Jon intrigue is a really, really bad plot line.  They're both good people, Cersei is the crazy psychopath.  Dany might be a bit more cold that Jon, but nowhere fucking near to a degree that makes Varys's concern remotely justified.

 

And Jaime gets all his character growth thrown in the dumpster? I guess we'll have to see.

 

And fuck Sansa.

 

God I hope Cersei wins now, just end it.

I thought it was a good, tense episode that may have been better served as being two episodes.  Granted, I still really enjoyed it, the character moments and was hit pretty hard by some of the scenes.

 

I don’t see what this episode did that was ‘total crap’ unless you really hated the direction episode 3 took.

The Greyjoys came up with some great stealth boat technology. Not even 2 flying dragons, a woman who is riding one of said dragons, and a fleet of ships full of people traveling in broad daylight could see them coming.

They will. I am sure of it. 

I just find it absolutely stunning how a group of showrunners have been given some of the most complex characters and story delivered them on a silver platter. Fans letting everyone know what they want. Actors who enjoy their roles, and these same showrunners manage to take it all, and run it to the ground. And for what? Why?

The episode had some nice character scenes but a lot of frustrating elements as well.

I can't stop thinking of the dragon though. Some small tweaks would have made it fine. They could have emphasized the injuries Rhaegal still had from battling the ice dragon. Show him a bit fatigued as he flew. This would have made it another consequence of Dany's decision to march at once instead of something cheap.
