There are lots of Gods in the GoT world.  R'hllor (Red God), the Seven ("new Gods"... mostly in Southern half of Westeros), the Old Gods (Weirwood trees/Godswood are used, mostly Northern Westeros), then many places in Essos have their own Gods (i.e. Dothraki, the Summer Isles, etc.)  They all think their own Gods are the true Gods, we don't really know if any of them are real or if it's all just magic.

Maybe so, but so far in the books no one is sure if it's just sorcerer tricks/illusions or not.

Yes, but it's a fantasy. Magic doesn't necessarily come from a God. You're taking it way too seriously.

Even through five books we still have no idea if any of the gods mentioned are real or if all the magic is just some innate quality the world has. So really the show isn't pushing anything. The people in the show are.

There seems to be some suggestion that the presence of dragons in the world allows for more powerful "magic".

Not really a spoiler since in the Season 2 finale Pyat Pee told Dany that following the birth of her dragons the Warlocks of Qarth had their magical powers increase.

 

This begs the question of whether the magic increase is because of the dragon's presence, or whether the return of the dragons is a symptom of the increased magic in the world (as in that the only reason the ritual to hatch them worked was because the world was tilting back towards magic).

 

It remains an open question.

There is also speculation that magic has something to do with the seasons being so messed up.

And the highlight scene of the episode looks suitably badass and amazing.

I hope they reveal who Boy is (to Unsullied viewers) tonight. They're getting a bit frustrated at the Theon storyline going nowhere.

That was the most romance/relationship/sex centric episode of this show yet. Kinda weird how pure relationship drama it was.

Not a lot of nudity the last few episodes, so I figure, hey invite the wife to watch tonight's episode. Boy was I in for a surpise. Half way through, she asked if we were watching a porno.
