So we're talking strictly box office wise here right? Not the characters themselves?

Cause I'm pretty sure even if MOS  gross like 500M, he's still an A-list  :)

P.S Sorry, just read the whole thread title and yeah, you're talking about box office, silly me

I have preservation about MOS. I think the film will do well in US regardless cause of his brand name. But overseas, I don't see him as a popular character anymore, so it's a wildcard that depend hugely on the film's quality IMO. But right now I'm thinking 250M Dom and 450M overseas so I agree with you prediction.

    No, strictly box office.

Think like a studio executive, not a fanboy.  :P

I think Thor has the A-list box office potential.

I would put Doctor Strange and GOTG in the C-list cause they're completely unknown properties to GA so I don't think their box office will be big, just solid enough IMO.

The name Ant-Man alone is lame even to me as a comics fan so I figure that would put off people  :D Being the movie right after TA2 might help it, but that remains unknown still, so C-list with 300M sounds right atm. Also, I dislike Hank Pym, so yes, C-list it is  :P

Doesn't box office results indicate the popularity and likeability of a character outside of that particular fanbase in this case comic books?

I think the list should be more like this:

    A List - > 600M

    B List - > 400M

    C List - < 400M

I don't think there is any need for anymore lists beyond C list.

A List Characters in movies past and present:

    Batman

    Spiderman

    Iron Man

    Avengers

B List Characters in movies past and present:

    Superman

    Thor

    Captain America

    X-Men

C List Characters in movies past and present:

    Daredevil

    Ghost Rider

    Fantastic Four

    Hulk

    ....and the rest.
