Dilusha Bandara
what i want IM3 PR STiD Dos Oblivion/Walter Mitty what I'll see on the list irl Elysium MoS Gravity some Oscar bite film DoS Oh dear, you don't have any idea of FX, STID has poor FX for a massive budget of 195M! And Oblivion was too outdated FX of bankrupted digital domain!

Blankments
I could see Elysium here; it looked really good
vc2002
Oblivion had some pretty good SFX. The problem is its 120m budget prevented it from having the effect in big-scale like those 200m mega movies could.
Founder / Operator Shawn Robbins Posted August 19, 2013 Founder / Operator Share Posted August 19, 2013 Early Oscar nominations predictions: Iron Man 3 Star Trek Into Darkness Man of Steel (shortlist, but no nomination) Elysium (shortlist, but no nomination) Pacific Rim Gravity (shortlist, but no nomination) Hobbit: DOSWalter Mitty
Jessie
I don't think Oblivion was good enough to make the nominations. The Landscapes were good along with Tom Cruise's Pod, but the drones looked pretty fake to me when they were flying and creating great landscapes is easily done in todays day of filming. I think if Gravity is what we think it is, it will practically be locked to win this.

If then STID had some very generic FX, its probably the worst in the list. Even IM3 FX and MOS FX(nothing special) are better than STID . This year its an easy win for GRAVITY. The Futurist
Pacific Rim MOS Easily the two most complex and technologically advanced movies of the year, VFX wise.

It looks to be a BP nominee. And BP nominees never lose.
