Hiccup's Critical Review Year 7

Recommended Posts

Now that I see your example, I realise this game is harder than I thought. To The Moon, in my eyes, was a very mediocre movie, but it had a lot of success (2 #1's, one from the almighty Creator). I just thought Heavy Rain was worse than I thought, considering the mediocre reviews it received.

If the Cancer Drama that I have planned for Year 9 doesn't make a number 1, then I know I won't be able to reach that height again

Choosing the right project is very important.

A very good film with the right subject matter will beat out "better" films with less interesting/compelling/palatable subject matter.

A cancer drama is a good choice but just don't make it sappy or overly emotional.

Still don't get your hate on Chuck and Liam, but whatever, I won't complain. ;)

Again, it took me four years to get a #1. Never give up on reaching that height!

I was never a fan of the series and the series annoyed me. They are however a review proof series so my bad review will not hurt the film even closely.

Because I have such passion for the horror genre (50% of this years horror crop was created by my studio), I will be doing the first annual Hiccup's Critical Horror Review Awards. I will list every horror film and rate it!

Rotten Horror Films= Avoid These Releases Horror Folk!

10. Brother and Sister- A weak psychological horror film that will likely be ignored at the box office and quickly up on Netflix.

11. Pride and Prejudice and Zombie: Dawn of the Dreadfuls: First film was one of the best horror comedies to date but this film falls utterly short of the first film (expectedly). Save your money for The 120 Days in Sodom or Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

12. The 13th Night: The 13th Night remake is just as weak as the original but is semi-saved with the very few changes and actually (according to horror standards) developments to its characters.

13. Harlem Shake: 28 Days Later- Terrible and horrible film but it is a horror comedy and with the exception of Cabin in the Woods and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies these types of films are never good.

14. The Vast Dark: Shadows of the Past- Already Reviewed

Average Horror Films= See If You Want

7. Penumbra- Already Reviewed

8. The Dark Victorian: Pursuit- Weaker than the first but still an enjoyable gothic horror ride. Tim Burton has become a weak director and the script of the film isn’t strong but thanks to a charismatic cast the film is watchable. Burton and Depp fans will enjoy this a lot.

9. 3:39AM- These movies are getting crappier as they go but 3:39 AM is still a watchable horror flick with some frights and jumps.

Believe it or not The 13th Night remake was my favorite horror film of the year. The story was very well-conceived.
