dashrendar44
Even with their campiness, I love the first two Superman movies. They may be campy, but they have heart and they remain quite entertaining. I'll take them over Man of Steel any day of the week. This. Terence Stamp is still the best Zod. Jake Gittes
Stamp was great. So were Reeve (that has to be the most perfect superhero casting in history), Kidder, Brando... I actually only just remembered how I couldn't stand Hackman, but then the issue has to be less with his performance and more with the way Luthor was originally written. Also, I've come to the point where I rarely have crushes on actresses based on a performance or two of theirs, but Sarah Douglas was stunningly sexy as Ursa, moreso than any other comic book movie heroine or villainness I can think of.

She was drop dead gorgeous in Beastmaster 2 and Conan the Destroyer as well in those skimpy outfits. I love her cunning and snarky demeanor, she got a atypical beauty with big expressive dark eyes. She could have been a silent movie star with her facial feature and statuesque physique.
John Marston
I really liked Man of Steel but the first two Superman films are still good. Mainly thanks to Christopher Reeve and the score. Things like buffoon Lex Luthor and Superman not actually fighting anyone are not going to fly today though Edited October 17, 2013 by Robert Stack

Hatebox
Superman still holds up, mainly because of Reeves' flawless performance. It's probably a little too long and slow by today's standards, but 70s audeince simply had a higher threshold for that, which is an indictment on us.
