Avengers 2 got 3 records that matters the most this weekend: Biggest OD of all time, Biggest single day of all time (Saturday) and biggest OW of all time. Impressive.

Next weekend, local movie Helios will be released but since the May 1 holiday falls on a Friday, I see another 3m weekend coming for Avengers 2 bringing its total to around 12.5m.

Movie get a boost from mainland moviegoer, its Monday is much higher than its OD and Friday.

:ohmygod:

Are the tickets similar in price? i.e. is AIW losing or gaining overall by mainland watching in Hong Kong early?

Bode well for China performance that mainland people get so caught up in hype that they travel to HK to see it lol. And looks like many of them too, enough to drive up ticket sales past freaking OD :hahaha:

The way it’s blowing past expectations everywhere has me hoping for $200m OW / $400m Total in China

SH movies legs in China lately have mostly been sub-2x, plus unfavorable release date, I feel to get $400M in China, it’s gonna need even bigger than $200M OW.

But hey, this movie has been blowing past expectations basically everywhere thus far, so I’m inclined to just throw precautions out of the window for China performance too.

Fingers crossed for 350M+
