Leyla
It's very hard to get final numbers for any film in HK as people in the industry focus on the here and now. Mojo says Saving General Yang made $819,042 but if you want accurate final numbers, you'll have to wait until July/August when half year reports come out and even then they only publish the top 10 films, sometimes 20. _________________________________________________________________________________ Now You See Me had a very strong Monday, nearly matching its Thursday admissions. thx for the info! I'll bother u about it in August nice nysm Monday Edited June 17, 2013 by Leyla

Man of Steel IMAX update Most theaters have not posted Man of Steel's schedules yet but let's take a look at how well Man of Steel is doing in IMAX. At the iSQUARE IMAX, peak showtimes are nearing 50% capacity with a week and a half to go. Now, let's check the Megabox IMAX. Quite good. Most profitable showtimes are 20-30% full. People that go to Megabox don't buy tickets as fast as those people that watch in iSQUARE so Man of Steel won't have a problem selling out here. If you're worried about Man of Steel's pre-sales in IMAX, I reassure you that these are very good pre-sales. Most films fill up half of the theater a few days in advance. This is still more than a week out so Man of Steel is headed for a weekend north of 3m. Thanks Blue, great to hear.

Most holdovers suffered terrible drops with the loss of last Wednesday's holiday. American Dreams in China held extremely well. Nice number for Miracle in Cell No. 7. WOM is spreading. Pee Mak Phra Khanong is still doing quite good. Wednesday adm. (so far) June 19 Rank Title LW TW WKD % chg QD % chg 1 World War Z -- 3,233 -- -- 2 Now You See Me 5,559 2,784 -49.9% -- 3 The Hangover 3 6,282 1,465 -76.7% -- 4 After Earth 5,808 1,081 -81.4% -- 5 Switch 2,688 546 -79.7% -- 6 So Young 760 474 -37.6% -- 7 Long Weekend -- 411 -- -- 8 American Dreams in China 2,068 391 -81.1% -- 9 Dead Man Down -- 260 -- -- 10 Pee Mak Phra Khanong 1,153 254 -78.0% -- That number is below Battleship/Sherlock Holmes 2 and Fast & Furious 6's Wednesday pre-sales. World War Z's number is very good though. It's not a sequel nor does it features robots or aliens. It will aim for 1m this weekend. Pretty good for Now You See Me. It will fall harder later today but people have been very receptive to this caper flick. All the holdovers saw huge drops with pre-sales. So Young had an OK drop. This is why I don't like Wednesday admissions. Long Weekend and Dead Man Down are there because of house bookings not because it saw an upsurge of random viewers today.

Bluebomb
Badges of Fury, Jet Li's new movie, is getting special screenings on Friday. Interest must not have been high enough to open on the 28th. Pre-sales don't look all that great either. Now You See Me has regained #1 from World War Z. This should be Now You See Me's last day at #1.
Bluebomb
Wednesday adm. June 19 Rank Title LW TW WKD % chg QD % chg 1 Now You See Me 16,704 14,396 -13.8% -37.7% 2 World War Z -- 9,704 -- -- 3 The Hangover 3 18,963 4,104 -78.4% -19.4% 4 After Earth 17,921 3,098 -82.7% -32.4% 5 Switch 6,350 1,498 -76.4% -34.1% 6 So Young 1,923 1,475 -23.3% -21.9% 7 American Dreams in China 4,897 1,077 -78.0% -37.9% 8 Miracle in Cell No. 7 -- 1,048 -- -25.5% 9 Fast & Furious 6 7,448 980 -86.8% -40.2% 10 Pee Mak Phra Khanong 3,636 937 -74.2% -28.5% Powerful for Now You See Me. Good for World War Z's opening day. It wasn't enough to beat Battleship/Sherlock Holmes 2/Fast & Furious 6's opening Wednesday night shows but that's a good number. Zombies aren't that popular in HK though The Walking Dead might be starting to turn public opinion of it. Early reviews are coming in hot with lots of good scores posted. Awful for Hangover 3, After Earth and Switch. Good hold for So Young. Not good for American Dreams in China. Very good for Miracle in Cell No. 7. Woah for Fast & Furious 6. Blech for Pee Mak Phra Khanong. Daily admissions (OW) Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Total Fast & Furious 6 11,537 21,137 23,621 41,162 41,206 138,663 World War Z 9,704 9,704 Gap -1,833 -22,970 -46,591 -87,753 -128,959 I thought it might be interesting to compare World War Z with Fast & Furious 6. World War Z will lose to Fast & Furious 6 in admissions but it could end up being much closer than general expectations. Good hold for Now You See Me but it will fall harder today. Hangover 3 didn't get overrun by World War Z. HK: Forbidden Super Hero previews place in the top 5. Great hold for American Dreams in China. Really bad for After Earth. OK for To the Wonder. Switch is a failure for Andy Lau. Blind Detective is out in 2 weeks. That one should do better. Pretty good for Fast & Furious 6 and The Great Gatsby.

Sam
Yes, it will. I was rooting for WWZ to do well, cause of Summer Game purpose But then I hope MOS will do well too. So far, its results in other Asian markets rank from okay to pretty good, I was kinda hoping for a break out in HK to shake things up.
