Best Original Score (Thomas Newman (The score for the film is a very low-key and foreboding affair in most instances, relying on sparse piano notes and a mix of violas and cellos to provide the base atmosphere. In some of the more emotional scenes the music swells a little bit with lighter string instruments included with some minor woodwind and horn accompaniment. There is a underlying base theme that reoccurs through the film that is focused on a moroseful piano tune backed up by cellos)

The End of the Universe

Best Animated Picture

Best Original Screenplay

Best Original Score (Martin O'Donnell) [The score is focused around two main tones of music. The first tone evokes adventure on the high seas, only in space. From this tone we get a main theme for William Kidd, which has a joyous fanfare of horned instruments accompanied by sleek notes from violins as its base. We also get a secondary theme for the smugglers, which has trombones and tubas as the base with some woodwinds to give a more mischievous and theiving atmosphere. The other tone evokes a pastoral paradise on a forgotten world. From here we get a main theme for Adira, which has a soft and charming tune of string instruments supported by an almost etheral choir. We also get a secondary theme for the Akrai, which is very pastoral with lots of strings and woodwinds to indicate a people at peace with nature.]

It's a total restart so any film from the old version can be reworked, re-campaigned, etc. But a simple copy&paste remake is kinda dull since the reboot allows for making the old films better in hindsight.

well Morrow and Chronicle are so recent I haven't really had time to dwell on them and what plot points I would change, so they are copy/pastes of the original versions. I figured just being a rehash might hold them back, which was why I raised the question. If they're going to have some points deducted from them due to being copy/paste jobs, I understand, but I want to have an OC prepared to take their place.

I think that consciously no-one would take points for being just copy-and-paste, but sub-consciously they might.

exactly what I was thinking.I don't even look at them as remakes since technically, based on the new rules, the originals were never made. And specifically in The Morrow's case I don't see it as a remake because I'm only posting it here to hurry up and get to Morrow 3 which I never got to post at BOM.
