Where do you guys live? Where I live there is a ton of marketing. I watch tv about four hours a day and I see 10 THB commercials in that four hours. Every movie at the theater I've seen in the last three months had a THB trailer attached. I've also seen billboards.
This movie is getting plenty of marketing for a mid-August movie.

100% spot on.
They should have continued on with that instead of focusing on the action aspects of the film. But it's like Lionsgate just wants all their movies/franchises to fail
No, this is August. It doesn't need a big marketing push, because there is no real competition.
But if LL or Annabelle beats it, then you're right.

The second highest grossing comedy of the summer is not saying much.
But it has very little competition, its in over 3000 theaters, Logan Lucky is only in 2400 theaters.
So, THB should do well at the b/o

here I am coming in to be negative but no way this gets 90%. It's gonna hover in the 50s. Maybe and I mean maybe get into the 60s. I really enjoyed the heck out of this movie and I rated it based on that. It's a fantastic time at the theater, imo. But the movie is flawed. A critic will weigh those flaws way more heavily than I did.
Now ban me
Maybe 90% is too high, the low 60's more likely.
But the IGN reviewer had me baffled. It was a very negative review, but he rated at 6.5/10

Mixed reviews is alright actually but I think this is one of those films where the reviews won't matter.
This is like the movie Lucy, mostly so-so reviews, but barely rates enough to have a fresh RT score, even though the audience hated it.
Looks like THB will have a 90% RT score with at best mediocre reviews.

The embargo has been lifted
The reviews are coming in and they are generally good.

It's a fair review, something I agree, some I don't.

So you don't want to be attacked but then you proceed to call all of us 12 year olds?
Passive aggressive much.
PS no one is gonna attack you for not liking a movie. Not every movie is well liked nor is every movie hated. Some people love a film that everyone else hates and some folks hate a movie that everyone loves. You're more than welcome to share your opinion.
But dont be passive aggressive about it and hurl insults at people who may like the film or the people who are commenting on this thread.
I was only making a general observation of what I have witnessed on this thread.
I didn't name anyone in particular, the fact that you responding to this means the shoe must be fitting.

In.
$35 million maybe

My turn, I'm giving my opinion on THB, which I seen a week ago.
In the private screening the audience was asked to not talk about until Aug 16.
So, I'm not going to say too much about it.
I will probably get attacked for my opinion by all the twelve years olds that on this thread all day.
So here is my opinion:
The trailers does this movie justice, unfortunately it would have better if they would have only showed the trailers.
This movie wasn't funny, except for RR facial expressions, Jackson was annoying.
Can't understand why a great actor like Jackson would signup for this role.
This movie has a great premise, but that mean nothing when you have a weak script and actors who seems not interested in this movie.
But they are some good things, they let Reynolds be Reynolds and the action was fun.
I recommend THB if you are a teenage boy.
I don't recommended for everybody else.
My rating: 3/10

I just found out.
The embargo was not lift, it was broken by two critics. Here is why these two broke the embargo.
Critics and the studios agree that critics will only publish their reviews after a certain date and time.
However if the studio start having public screenings, the critics are not obligated to honor the agreement anymore.
Most critics will still honor the agreement, even though the agreement has now ended.

Also I can see critics not liking it but this film is a pure crowd pleaser. I can't stress that enough.
My crowd absolutely loved it.
Dude, your over doing it.

As soon as the first ticket is purchased it makes profit. But it still has to meet certain thresholds for the backend deals.
Soderburgh is hoping for a $15 mil ow.

Berry rocks as a action hero

There will probably be a Statesman spinoff franchise.
It seems like it's already in the making

Can't wait for this one

Was the embargo been lifted?
Two Rotten Tomatoes critics has let their feeling known about this movie:
Josh Kurp gives it a C-
Ian Freer of Empire wrote his full review and he only give it 2/5
But it mean nothing right now, it's only two critics, it's still early.

Black Panther and its stellar cast will easily make over $300 mil

Saw a trailer in the cinema a couple days ago, this had gone completely under my radar. Looks rad.
It's a pure indies movie with self-distribution, I'm surprised it gotten the little attention it getting.

Something wrong with big Hollywood, they wouldn't dare make this movie.

Probably the best movie I've seen this year
