Right, thanksWe won't get actuals until after Monday and yes they will be 4-day.
-
Sorry for the idiot question, but because it's memorial weekend in the US will the weekend actuals be 3 day or 4 day totals?
-
Hope so, MIB really deserves itRay's weekend predictions on BOM says Sony is projecting 80m for the 4 day. Usually the studios try to lowball their projections/predictions so there's more room to avoid dissapointment. They must think it will do better than that. I think MIB 3 is going to surprise a lot of people.

Shame about THG drop but still -35%, 400 mil still on track.
-
Like Katniss.I'm so sorry.THG has defied any and all box office logic. I can see why it has thrown a lot of people off with their calculations and predictions. It's unique.
-
It will probably be even worse anyway lolBtw, I made up the THG no. :P
-
Why does THG always drop
-
Does THG have imax next week or was it this week?
-
Don't be absurd, THG always goes down. It's like the law. Sundays hate The Hunger Games...Everything went up! Please be the first weekend where THG goes up! Over 15m would just be amazing and I'd be ecstatic.

Stuff like this is such retarded vitriol. The books are fantastic reads, just because you don't like them, doesn't mean your opinion of them is shared by others.
(This gif is meant affectionately of course )
-
Just because you use a less offensive word calling people "Loonies" for watching "the piece of garbage" THG, it's still basically the same thing, and you're being incredibly hypocritical. It's a huge difference. Insulting someone by being rude, crude and obnoxious is one thing, telling someone that you hate the movie they like is another. I've never told someone they are a fucking retard for liking Potter or THG, but I have been called those exact words because I like Twilight.
-
Hope they won't be adjusted down too much (if at all)...

Wow. I saw THG for a second time today (so much better after another viewing btw, and I really liked it to begin with). I was in a very large screen at Vue, and the 2pm showing was completely packed (only a few seats in the front row and a couple of the premier seats were empty). Pretty impressive for a film in it's third week, clearly getting good wom in the UK.(I realise its a bank holiday ofc but still very surprising imo).
-
I'm predicting 365.
-
Agreed (except for Azkaban, god I loved that film). The only advantage Potter flicks hold over THG is the production design. THG is a far superior film overall. You don't have to be a fanboy/fangirl to appreciate it. This is the reason it's exploding.
-
I feel it is bad in comparison to the other two books, it's still a decent book ('awful' was an exaggeration).I did feel that spoiler's death at the end was perfect though. It was very poetic (something which I feel Rowling sort of bottled out on).Me too. I don`t get the hate that has this book as some kind of literal abomination on the level of BD.
-
I just felt it was far too rushed and it felt like a completely different author. Also the final capitol battle was described/imagined really weirdly (the floor folded away at one point? wtf lol).I like Mockingjay...
-
Mockingjay was awful though. (I could see it working well as a film however)Yes
-
In other news, The Hunger Games has officially bumped BD1 out of the top 50 domestic.Baumer will be so pleased
-
Twilight, Shrek, Transformer and most other 300 mill films are at least well made and entertaining. This piece of crap is just hogwash. Enjoy your day and your crappy movie.
-
I totally agree the perfect timing of book popularity and film has caused it to be the huge hit that it is*, but the strong critic reviews and cinemascore/WOM suggests that it is a good film. It's far far more deserving than Twilight imo.You should at least take some solace in knowing THG's success as a movie is almost entirely from its perfect timing at the books height of popularity...it's not a success because of the movie itself, but from its fans and the book (same as twilight though).
Though I still feel that doesn't quite explain why the film is this huge.
-
Brilliant. 21JS really deserves it and it's legs have been amazing. Two milestones this weekend.THG $302m. I think that was my domestic prediction. It's blowing past that.21 Jumpstreet joins the $100m club.
-
Let's hope eh?Maybe...(x

I think It must be sarcasm...This is getting ridiculous...

It was just an american phenomenon but I believe it is rapidly becoming a worldwide phenomenon. Whenever I get on the tube I see at least a couple of people reading Catching Fire etc. Many people at my Uni has just finished reading it or are in the process of doing so, and I think this 'hype' is happening in many other countries.Catching Fire will be massive.
