For all its faults, I still enjoy this franchise and I'd like to see this entry....but the only two theatres within a reasonable distance for me are Cinemark and Regal. So I guess I'll just wait until it comes to Netflix.

When the hell is The Last Witch Hunter supposed to take place? Like all over the ads they have Vin looking clean shaven in what looks like a modern day setting, and then on the poster outside this premium theater at the shopping center close by it shows him all bearded up in period clothing sitting on the throne of what looks like a rejected set from Game of Thrones. And yet I can't even be moved to care. Gonna guess audiences at large feel the same way.
I vaguely remember from the trailer that Vin's character is immortal and his centuries (millennia?) of hunting witches is what's made him so skilled at it. So his character was rocking a beard hundreds of years ago but the story mostly takes place in present day.

Henry Cavill is a very attractive man, but I wouldn't call him "pretty." He has more rugged looks.

Fantastic Four weekdays were bigger than Ant-Man here, coming from an equal OW, and it ended with a bigger 7 day total lol. Meanwhile Rogue Nation is going basilisk today (opening day here) and Minions is on track to become the 2nd biggest movie ever behind Avatar. It will end up with 3 times more than what Despicable Me 2 did here lol.
I'm assuming you meant going ballistic, right? Unless Rogue Nation is sneaking around the Chamber of Secrets and petrifying the other movies.

I liked this movie a lot better when it was called Rocky III.

Agents of Shield gets off to an uneven start and the first few episodes aren't the best. It improves a lot as the first season goes on and I think season two as a whole was a huge improvement over the first. The show really found its stride.

It's awesome reviews, high theater count and it's from the director of Bridesmaids and The Heat.
Wow, I didn't realize the reviews were that good. Alrighty, I can see where the high predictions are coming from now.

What is it about Spy that makes everyone think it's going to open so huge? I was thinking more like $25-30M, but maybe I'm missing something.

Yeah I was just going to come here to post that it's apparently working again, but I was beaten to the punch. I really hope this means it's back. The site hasn't been updated since Thursday, though.

Frozen was number one in its sixth weekend of wide release. Technically its seventh overall so I'm not sure if that counts.If GOTG leads next weekend (which it probably will), then it'll be the first film to take the top spot in it's sixth weekend since Avatar.

I didn't expect to enjoy this flick so much, but I really did. The music was fantastic, especially "Let it Go," and the bond between the sisters was truly touching. I'll give it an A.

Well, I feel very, very alone in my feelings toward this film, but I hated it. I gave it a D just because the visuals were all right. As mattmav45 said, the child death for Bullock's character just felt like a forced contrivance to make you care about her character. I don't think that Bullock is a good enough actress to carry a whole movie by herself. I'm baffled at what everyone sees in it. What weak back story there was felt like nothing more than an excuse just to have a bunch of special effects that weren't all that revolutionary. I'm totally fine with differing opinions and I would never criticize someone for liking Gravity, but I just don't get it.

Reviewing this movie is difficult because the original, alternate ending completely changes (and betters) the entire movie, so I have to give two different ratings. I'd give the theatrical version a 7/10 and the version with the original ending a 9/10.

I really enjoyed this film. Great acting performances all around, particularly from Jackman and Gyllenhaal. Very suspenseful and I actually didn't think it felt overly long; I was too caught up in the story. I gave it an A.

I'm a bit odd in that I'm far more likely to cry during really happy, triumphant moments than ones of sorrow. That said, the following movies have made me tear up, though only one reduced me to a blubbering mess.

I didn't think it was as good as the first one, but it was still a solid flick that I thoroughly enjoyed. Cool action sequences, that trademark dark humor, some solid, believable character development... I'd give it a B overall.

Well, I'm definitely disappointed in the opening for Elysium. I was hoping for better. I think We're the Millers is gonna end up out-grossing it.

I'd give it a B. Definitely a bit of a letdown from District 9, but it had some great visuals, and I really liked Matt Damon in the lead role. But Sharlto Copley just stole the show. I never would've expected he'd make such a good villain.

Wow, I'm glad I checked this thread; somehow I had completely missed that trailer up until now. I think Book 2 looks great. The trailer itself was beautiful. All instrumental and showing off gorgeous animation. And I think the spirits look pretty cool too. I definitely can't wait for the new season.

Went to see Elysium at 9 PM last night. Theatre was maybe about 2/3 full. Hardly even remember the trailers shown; none of them were particularly interesting.

I thought it was okay. Great chemistry between Wahlberg and Washington, but that was about it. Fortunately, those two had nearly enough charisma to carry the whole film.

Does anyone know what the record is for the biggest drop off from one film to the next in a franchise? Alice Through the Looking Glass has to have a shot at that, right? Going from $334M to most likely under $100M is hilariously awful. I can't think of anything that has even come close to that.
